The rooms are small and simply furnished with the exception of new, but traditional looking Norwegian-style four poster beds in dark green with intricate red and white hand-painted designs. The bathrooms which are rather old fashioned are, like the rooms, in good condition. The restaurant is huge. It is simply furnished and enjoys fabulous views. This low-rise hotel is rather drab to look at with a largely concrete facade to withstand the sometimes brutal weather that the Norwegain winter throws at it. The lobby is small and old fashioned with limited seating, but various old Norwegian artifacts on display throughout the public areas raise the tone and give the hotel a cosy welcoming atmosphere. This hotel may be rather old fashioned, but its stunning location and friendly Norwegian mountain atmosphere more than make up for it. RY0806
